Become a Flying Instructor with Australian National Airline College .

For many people becoming an Instructor is a great way to build experience in the aviation industry before moving onto other things, like the Airlines, whilst for some there is great satisfaction that comes from sharing the thrill of flying with others and they choose to make a career as an Instructor.

We cannot guarantee you a job as an Instructor as your appointment will depend on:

1. You being able to demonstrate that you can reach the high standards required of an ANAC Instructor.

2. You being able to secure the required visa that allows you to stay and work with us.

The good news is that with the strength of the aviation industry at present and the need for more Instructors, your chance of securing a work visa is good and the fact that many of our students have gone on to work with us provides us with confidence that we can get to our required standards to also achieve the prestigous goal of becoming an ANAC Instructor.

If you wish to follow this path, you will first need to complete a Commercial Pilot Licence before you can commence your Instructor Rating.

The  CPL/Instructor Rating course fee of $62,844 includes the full Commercial Pilot Licence with all the items listed at   http://www.flying-school.com/cpl.htm , plus 8 hours dual Piper Warrior and test fee for Night VFR Rating as well as the training described below.

The Instructor Rating will take 8-10 weeks to complete and includes:

* 20 hours dual flying with one of our Grade 1 Instructors

Note: A Grade 1 Instructor is the top level in the Instructing profession - (other than Testing Officers and Chief Flying)Instructors). On graduation you will start as a Grade 3 Instructor before moving up to Grade 2 and eventually Grade 1

* 30 hours "mutual" flying.

This means flying with another Instructor trainee. During these flights the 2 trainees practice teaching various flight sequences on each other as though they were teaching a new student.

* Intensive flight theory and briefings.

You will need to be able to deliver flight briefings and aviation theory training to your students, so will need to undergo extensive practice and training to be able to deliver this professionally and confidently.

* Level 4 Workplace Trainer and Assessor course:

In this course you will learn various teaching strategies and skills to assist you in your job as an Instructor.

Please note: if you decide to start your career as an Instructor, then as you wont be doing any Instrument Flying in the early part of your Instructing career, you could choose to do the Instrument Rating later on if you prefer. You could even do it part time whilst working with us.

So if becoming a Flying Instructor sounds like the thing for you, we encourage you to enrol on our CPL with Instructor Rating course and/or contact us to discuss your interest.

Note:
The course fee includes all theory, textbooks, and exam and flight test for the first attempt only, navigation equipment, maps etc and initial issue CASA documents.

Should the student require additional training or have to re-sit any exam or flight test, the additional cost will be charged at current published rates.

Landing fees and en-route navigation charges shall be charged separately. An invoice shall be issued every 12 weeks from course commencement and upon course completion.

Licence issue fees are not included and are payable directly to CASA.
