FAQ

Which course should I do?

There are many different flying jobs however the vast majority of people who train with us are hoping to work for an Airline.

Each airline around the world may have slightly different entry requirements however the common requirements are:

  • A Commercial Pilot Licence
  • A Multi Engine Endorsement
  • An Instrument Rating

With these qualifications you will be in a position to make application to your local airline to be taken on by them and trained in the aircraft type they wish you to fly. Thus for most of our students we recommend the Commercial Pilot Licence With Multi Engine Endorsement and Instrument Rating course.

This course meets the requirements of most countries and most airlines however in some countries there may be additional requirements.

If you have any specific requirements that do not appear to be met by our courses, please let us know what they are and we will design a course that meets your needs.

If you are learning to fly as a hobby rather than a career then you only need to undertake the Private Pilot Licence course. This licence allows you to fly with passengers anywhere in Australia (or worldwide once you do the local conversion). The main difference between a Private Licence and a Commercial Licence is that with a Commercial Licence you may fly for hire or reward (i.e get paid) whilst a Private Pilot Licence holder may not.

If you wish to fly for hire or reward and to work in such areas as tourist flights, instructing, VFR Charter, fire spotting etc, you may only need a Commercial Pilot Licence. Whilst most positions do require an Instrument Rating, there are some jobs that don’t.
