Can I stay and work in Australia as a pilot when I have finished my training?
Apart from the Occupational Trainee Visa you can only work in Australia if you have a work visa or have arranged permanent residency. This cannot be arranged by us and can only be arranged by you in your own country (i.e you cannot come to Australia and try to organise it while you are here) by applying directly to the Department of Immigration. You may also like to consider talking to a registered migration agent who may be able to assist you with professional advice.
In Australia an airline will generally not consider an application from anyone with less than about 2000 hours flight time with 500 multi engine hours. It can take years of hard work with very little pay to reach this level of experience in Australia. However in many countries you will be considered for an airline appointment with a Commercial Licence and Instrument Rating. Thus it is often the case that your prospects at home will be better than in Australia.
