Melbourne is the state capital of Victoria and Australia's second largest city, with a population of approximately 3.5 million. On several occasions Melbourne has been voted by an international panel as "The World's Most Liveable City". Once you have lived in Melbourne, its easy to understand why. Located on Port Phillip Bay, Melbourne is in close proximity to beautiful surf beaches, alpine regions with fantastic ski fields and a number of national parks ranging from sub-tropical to semi desert. The city itself boasts a large multi cultural population which has helped develop a huge range of reasonably priced restaurants with cuisines from throughout the world.

With its intensive calendar of sporting events such as the Australian Formula One Grand Prix, Australian Tennis Open, Australian Rules Footbal (AFL) and a wide range of arts and cultural events, there is always something to do in Melbourne. This makes Melbourne a great place to experience overseas study.
